Understanding the networked brain through its injury

About

👋
Hi ! We are NeuraConnect Lab at the University of Georgia.
Our current research focuses on understanding the mechanisms and treatment of traumatic brain injury using computational models, animal models, and human data with integrative knowledge of biomechanics and neuroscience. But we are constantly evolving and getting interested in how the brain works.

Our research vision is to tackle the complexity and heterogeneity of traumatic brain injury (TBI) from the brain network perspective and advance our understanding of brain function mechanisms. our team will leverage my experience pioneering interdisciplinary tools – powerful integrative methods to link biomechanics and network neuroscience principles – to uncover how local tissue deformation causes neural desynchronization in the complex brain network. We will apply this approach to quantitatively understand the influences of biomechanical and physiological features on injury risks, decipher different injury mechanisms, and decode the macroscale recovery process of the brain network. The insights gained will have a broad biomedical impact and clinical application.

This is where we share our research, but it goes beyond a list of publications. Information wants to be free, and we are trying to do our small part here. The best way to reach out to us is via Twitter, or Email: [email protected]
